Jordi Casas-Roma holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB, 2014), a Master’s degree in Advanced Artificial Intelligence from UNED (2011), and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from UAB (2002). He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at UAB, where he teaches courses in programming, machine learning, reinforcement learning, and complex networks. He is also an Associate Researcher at the Computer Vision Center (CVC-UAB).

His main research interests lie in artificial intelligence, reinforcement learning, graph mining, and data privacy. Previously, he developed his teaching and research career over a 13-year period at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). He holds the Lector accreditation (AQU, 2016), the Research accreditation (AQU, 2020), two recognized six-year research periods (sexenios, 2011–2016 and 2017–2022), and three five-year teaching merits (quinquenios, UOC: 2009–2013 and 2014–2018; UAB: 2019–2023).

He has published 18 papers in indexed journals (8 as first author, 2 as sole author, and 5 as last author), with an h-index of 16 on Google Scholar (830 citations) and 11 on Scopus (417 citations). He has presented 9 conference papers, contributed 1 book chapter, and participated in 10 competitive research projects with total funding exceeding €1.2 million. He is also the author of 6 educational and outreach books and has supervised 2 PhD theses, as well as numerous Bachelor’s and Master’s theses at both UOC and UAB.
